You may have heard of a new diner in Coraopolis that opened last October. At Rodney’s Diner, customers enjoy home cooked meals made by local families.
An old styled interior with florescent bright colors and a “Grease” like feeling, Rodney’s Diner is the kind of place where you can count on affordable comfort food like steak and eggs, and a handmade milkshake.
“The Rodney” consists of four eggs, peppers, home fries, onions, ham, bacon, sausage and American cheese all blended together served with toast. This menu item is one of many tasty choices available to customers.
Rodney Gowers and Tammy Gowers are the owners, and they plan to operate Rodney’s as they do their other property, the Jailhouse Saloon that is just down the street from Rodney’s.
When asked why they opted to open a second place so close to the other, Tammy said, “It has always been a dream of ours. I just left my job to come and run the business here. We like to support the community and cater to families in the area.”
Rodney’s doesn’t look or feel like a big-chain place; there’s a family-like atmosphere and pride to be better and to give customers the best service. Locals seem to notice.
“With an already successful Jailhouse Saloon and care the owners have for others in the community, I am certain they will be successful with Rodney’s and they make the best Eggs Benedict in town,” Robert Morris student Jacob Ruest said.
