PITTSBURGH -The Pittsburgh Water and Sewage Authority (PWSA) is now offering services to help non-English speaking customers.
The PWSA teamed up with the United Language Group (ULG) to add translation and interpretation services for their customers. The new service will assist communications between clients and the organization, including calls and written forms of communication.
The service will transfer customers who are not familiar with English to interpreters who know a wide range of more than 200 languages. Upon request, customers can have any PWSA letter or notice converted to a language other than English.
“PWSA is actively enhancing customer service for all of our customers, regardless of language preference,” said PWSA executive director Robert A. Weimar. “This new translation service is yet another example of how we are becoming the professional water utility Pittsburgh expects and deserves.”
The PWSA hopes that this new service will help tear down cultural barriers as well as help all customers understand what they need to know about the various programs and services that the PWSA offers.
