MOON TOWNSHIP – A mental health survey was released to RMU students on Nov. 4 by Healthy Minds.

The Healthy Minds survey was made possible through funding of the JED Foundation, a non-profit organization that specializes in mental health and suicide prevention. The JED Foundation partnered with Healthy Minds in order to get the survey out to university students.

“It is a nationally renowned survey, the top mental health survey in the country,” said Anne Lahoda, co-chair of the Healthy Minds survey and Director of Residence Life. “They assess what kind of mental health needs we have at the university. They also assess what we have for students.”

The survey also helps the students to see if they should consider a mental health check-up and gathers information of the climate on campus. Those who would like to talk more about mental illness are encouraged to contact the RMU Counseling Center.

The Healthy Minds survey runs through Nov. 21. Students that take the survey also have the chance to win prizes.
