Madison Griffin wins second consecutive MAC Defensive Player of the Week award

Robert Morris defender Madison Griffin has been named MAC Defensive Player of the Week for the second consecutive week for her excellent play against Youngstown State and Cincinnati, it was announced this afternoon.

Griffin had an impressive stat line in the 18-7 win against Youngstown State as she had three ground balls, two caused turnovers and eight draw wins. After the win, the Colonials advanced to 5-0 in conference play.

In the match against Cincinnati, Griffin was again a force for the Colonials as she had eight ground balls, six caused turnovers and two draw controls.

Griffin’s excellent play has done wonders for this Colonials team and she will look to continue her great play as the Colonials will travel to Detroit to take on Detroit Mercy on Saturday.
