Yet another player has entered the transfer portal for the Robert Morris men’s basketball team as sophomore forward Olisa Ngonadi has entered the portal after spending his first two seasons of his collegiate career with the Colonials, per VerbalCommits.

The Nigerian appeared in a total of 19 games for RMU, averaging just 1.6 points per game. After a rough first season coming off the bench for the Colonials, Ngonadi looked to take a step up in production from where he was at in his freshman season. In his first game on the floor in the 2020-21 season against Point Park, he scored a career-high 13 points in the team’s 75-57 win over the Pioneers.

After the game against PPU, Ngonadi got minutes sporadically throughout the rest of the season, scoring eight points against Wright State on January 30.

Ngonadi was the final remaining player on the 2020 NEC Championship team as every player that was on that team has either transferred out of the program or graduated.

This now brings Robert Morris’ transfer total to eight players. Even though that number seems like a gaudy amount, head coach Andy Toole has been hard at work retooling his squad after a disappointing 2020-21 season. He has brought in Mattia Acunzo, who was Toledo’s highest recruit in program history, Justin Winston (St. Bonaventure), Brandon Stone (La Salle), Rasheem Dunn (St. John’s), Ferron Flavors (Oklahoma St.) and Michael Green III (Bryant).

Now that yet another player has transferred out of the program, don’t be surprised if Toole tries to pick up a player out of the portal as there are over 1,000 players in it already and the number continues to grow.
