Are you looking for something to do on campus this weekend? The Robert Morris University Theatre Department is performing its production of Grease this weekend and next in Massey Theatre.
The show is packed with swinging music, vibrant colors, and plenty of humor, all centered around a timeless story.
The production will take you out of the cold and transport you to a high school in 1959 where we follow the fun romance of Danny Zuko (played by sophomore Cooper Bruce), who has a known reputation of being Joe Camel cool and the leader of the rebellious, leather jacket-wearing group called “The T-Birds.” One summer, he falls in love with the new girl, Sandy Olsson (played by sophomore Olivia Garofalo), a goodie two-shoes with no reputation other than being an absolute sweetheart. She becomes closely associated with a group called “The Pink Ladies,” which is the exact antithesis of The T-Birds.
After a summer fling between Danny and Sandy, the two groups try to get the lovebirds back together. Will they be successful?
Opening night kicks off Friday, Oct. 24, at 7:30 p.m. in Massey Theatre.
