As of Sept. 25, the Toronto Blue Jays, Chicago Cubs, Milwaukee Brewers, Los Angeles Dodgers, Seattle Mariners, San Diego Padres, Philadelphia Phillies, and New York Yankees had clinched playoff spots.
By Sept. 28, the playoff field was set: the Yankees, Boston Red Sox, Blue Jays, Mariners, Cleveland Guardians, Detroit Tigers, Cubs, Padres, Brewers, Dodgers, Phillies, and the Reds.
For the Reds, it was a shocking run. This marks their first postseason appearance in a 162-game season since their 2013 campaign.
