On October 21st, RMU’s chapter of Zeta Tau Alpha hosted their annual Paint her Pink event. This was day two of ZTA’s Think Pink Week, a week filled with events to raise awareness and money for those afflicted with breast cancer. They kicked off their efforts for Breast Cancer Awareness Month at their annual Crucial Catch Steelers game on the 13th, where ZTA passed out pink ribbons and worked to spread awareness among attendees.
From 5:00- 8:00 ZTA sisters were at the Gazebo with pink paint, a soda cart and a mission to make a difference. Other students could purchase a cup of pink paint for two dollars and paint the ZTA girls from head to toe. Besides paint students could also purchase raffle tickets or a dirty soda with all the proceeds raised going to the ZTA foundation for Breast Cancer Awareness and Education.
The Paint Her Pink event has been a ficture every October since 2023 when ZTA’s then director of philanthropy, Morgan Nurmi, decided to bring the opportunity to Robert Morris. She saw that it was bringing success to other ZTA chapters and knew her sisters would be up to the challenge. “I was honestly really surprised about how many girls wanted to be painted and it just made me so happy because it just brings us all together… and I love seeing how many people care about breast cancer”, Nurmi said.
If you missed Paint Her Pink, don’t worry, it won’t be the last one, and ZTA has fundraising events throughout the entire year so make sure to stop by and show your support!
