Early Sunday morning, a Kennywood employee was killed after being struck by a vehicle near the park in West Mifflin.
According to Allegheny County dispatchers, police and fire officials were called to the area of Kennywood Boulevard and Hoffman Boulevard just before 6 a.m.
Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the woman hours after the incident as 73-year-old Lorna Brennen.
Kennywood General Manager Ricky Spicuzza issued a statement on the incident, confirming an employee died as a result of the crash.
Spicuzza stated, “We are heartbroken by the tragic loss of one of our hosts, who passed away earlier this morning. Our thoughts and prayers are with their family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time.”
