In Pittsburgh’s Knoxville neighborhood, an hours-long standoff ended when the suspect was taken into custody on Friday night.
The suspect, Zachary Livingston, 30, was taken into custody late Friday evening after a 13-hour-long standoff.
Pittsburgh’s only news chopper, Sky 4, was over the scene where police were speaking with a suspect sitting on the roof of a house at Alice Street and Grimes Avenue.
Livingston was seen standing up, smoking, then sitting back down as an officer spoke with him through an open window.
Officers were working to serve a warrant at the location.
According to Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office, Livingston had three bench warrants issued back in July for probation violations on a case involving criminal mischief and two cases involving burglary. He was declared a fugitive 60 days ago.
According to officials, the 30-year-old has a number of active warrants out of Westmoreland County and West Mifflin.
Detectives received reports that Livingston was staying in a rental property in Knoxville. According to officials, Livingston fled out the window and onto the roof when detectives attempted to approach him on the third floor of the building.
Livingston is facing new charges, including multiple counts of recklessly endangering another person, and risking catastrophe.
