The Biden Administration Plans On Expanding The Border Wall

The immigration crisis on the southern border has been a hot topic for years. There have been furious debates over whether or not a wall should be built to deter immigrants from crossing illegally. The Trump administration talked of continuing to build a wall but fell short of its plan to complete a wall. The Biden admin stopped the continuation of the construction as they claimed that border walls don’t work.

Migrants have been crossing the border in record numbers as conditions deteriorate in parts of the world. Many of these people are coming to seek asylum and several states are feeling the pressure of this crisis.

The White House has been facing pressure about the immigration crisis because cities like New York and Chicago cannot handle the influx of immigrants from the southern border. As a result, the Biden administration will be waiving over 20 laws regarding border wall construction.

The wall will cover a significant portion of the Texas border with Mexico.

Leftover funds from the Trump administration will fund the wall as they were given money for the project, which was never completed.

As a result of the crisis, the Biden admin will begin to deport many Venezuelans who have crossed the southern border. Venezuelans are the second largest group who cross the border, only behind Mexicans. The reason for the high influx is due to escaping a totalitarian government system, starvation, inflation, and increasing violence in their country.

America’s border policy is exceptionally flawed and with the state of Congress, it will be challenging to try and create legislation to combat the issue the nation is facing.
