Fresh off an outstanding week for the Robert Morris softball team, Senior Anna Resnik has won her second Horizon League Player of the Week honor this season.
It’s now the third time in the Colonials’ campaign that a player has collected two Player of the Week honors, and it’s the eighth issued to the team overall this season.
Resnik hit two home runs, eight RBIs, and scored a total of five runs this week for the Colonials, who still sit second in the conference but did return home with a series win against top placed Cleveland State at the North Athletic Complex.
Resnik has been a consistent standout player during her tenure in the red, white, and blue, collecting 146 hits, 107 hits, 74 RBI, and five home runs in her time in Moon Township. Now in her final season with the Colonials, Resnik is part of an extraordinary and record-breaking roster that currently sits two games out of top spot in the conference.
RMU has already locked up a first round bye in the tournament, but if Cleveland State were to drop their series against Oakland, then the Colonials would be alone at the top.
The team will travel to Bowling Green for their last regular season series this season. The three games are scheduled to take place on May 2 and 3.
