The Northeast Conference announced its postseason awards Wednesday afternoon. Two Colonials were included in the award winners.
Graduate senior Bo Columbus was named the conference’s Player of the Year. This is the fifth time a Colonial has won this honor.
He led the NEC was fifth in the country with a .636 faceoff percentage. Columbus also led the conference was seventh in the country in ground balls per game with 7.79. His program record 18 ground balls against VMI on April 12, led the NCAA in most ground balls in a game.
Senior David Burr won the conference’s Offensive Player of the Year. He had 28 goals and led the team with 23 assists and 51 points. He was second in the NEC with 1.67 assists per game. Burr became the second Colonial to earn NEC Offensive Player of the Year honors (Kiel Matisz in 2012).
Robert Morris led the conference with nine players on All-NEC teams.
Columbus and Burr were joined by Calum Brennan, Owen Tapper, Elijah Edwards, and Gavin Pedone on the All-NEC First Team.
Kean Moon, Nick Pelletier, and Nate Fechter were named on the All-NEC Second Team. Luke Prezioso was named on the All-Rookie team.
The Colonials will open their NEC Tournament campaign as the 2-seed against LIU in Syracuse on Thursday at noon.
