Although the season for Robert Morris women’s soccer ended last week, they still keep collecting awards.

Following their 5-0 loss to eventual champions Milwaukee, the Colonials’ fantastic season came to a close, which meant they would have to say goodbye to their veteran seniors.

Kristi Kania and Kaoru Hayashi, both starters in their regular and postseason games, would not say goodbye without a parting gift from the league they’ve given their last two seasons to. Both Kania and Hayashi were awarded spots on the Horizon League All-Tournament team.

The graduates featured heavily and played key roles in the program’s first Horizon League postseason appearance and victory, beating Wright State 4-1. Hayashi herself got on the scoresheet, picking up a goal and two assists, and four points overall.

Kania may not have made her way onto the contribution chart, but she put in a dominant and vital display on defense. The Moon Township native was a rock on defense, especially considering he slow starts the Colonials faced.

RMU kept it close against the Panthers in the first half, entering halftime down by only one goal. Once Milwaukee doubled though, the Colonials collapsed. Still, these highly regarded graduates picked up awards before departing in spring.
