The Robert Morris softball team isn’t done breaking records just yet.
On Tuesday, the Horizon League announced its softball postseason awards. Freshman infielder Mary Brant earned conference Co-Freshman Player of the Year and featured and a record eight Robert Morris players were featured on an All-League team.
Brant slugged an impressive .352 batting average, and led Horizon League freshman with 10 home runs, 36 RBI and a .703 slugging percentage. She shared the award with Green Bay’s Sara Ebner.
Three Colonials were etched on the All-Horizon League First Team, outfielder Courtney Poulich, infielder Anna Resnik and pitcher Madison DeVault.
In the regular season, Poulich had a batting average of .333 and led the Horizon League with a .741 slugging percentage, including 12 home runs and 47 RBI. She also was named to the Horizon League All-Academic Team last week.
Resnik improved last year’s Second Team garner in 2024, earning a spot on the First Team in 2025. She ranked in the top 10 in the conference in batting average, on-base percentage, RBI and runs scored while also being reliant in the field with only three errors.
Madison DeVault has been the ace the Colonials needed all season. She had the lowest ERA in the conference (2.48) and opposing batting average (2.01) with an 11-7 record in 21 starts and 14 complete games.
Kaylyn Hopf, Alaina Koutsogiani, Jess Matheny, and Kaitlyn Molitoris were all named to the Horizon League All-Second Team.
The Colonials will start their Horizon League Championship campaign on Thursday, May 8 at 2:30 PM in Cleveland, Ohio. They will start the tournament on a bye as the 2 seed and will face the winner of 3-seed IU Indy and 6-seed Green Bay.
