Colonial Chaos looks to raise money for Cystic Fibrosis

Colonial Chaos has been the buzz around campus the past few weeks with its anticipated start this morning. Starting at 10 A.M. the free throw competition between students will take place at John Jay Gym until 6 P.M.. Following the free-throw competition, at 8 P.M. a pep rally will commence at the Sewall Center preceding the highlight of the fundraiser: President Dell’Omo will face off against Romo. John Tucci squares off against Steve from Romo’s. Men’s basketball head coach, Andy Toole will challenge Velton Jones. There will be additional contestants in attendance as well, all to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

“The PR club and SMA are excited to team up with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation for Colonial Chaos.” Abbey Lape, the President of the Public Relations Club said. “We are thrilled with the excitement and overwhelming support we have received from the students, faculty, and staff. We hope this is an event that continues to grow over the coming years.

There are a variety of things that the organization is doing to get a bigger participant turnout such as getting to switch places with President Dell’Omo for a day and a $25 gift card to Dick’s Sporting Goods for the top male and top female contestant. There will also be chances to win free Panera bread for an entire year and gift card to GNC and Dick’s Sporting Goods.

“This event is modeled off an event called the Foul-A-Thon that I participatd in middle school. We are trying to get the entire campus excited for men’s and women’s basketball games over the weekend.” Creator of the event Zach Freeman said. “Of course, we are trying to raise as much money as possible for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.”
