An evacuation order for homes on Washington Street in the Leetsdale Borough has been issued by the Allegheny County Emergency Services officials. Officials have said that over 70 homes have been evacuated.
Representatives from Hazmat will be going door-to-door to relay the orders to residents who will be evacuated to the Quaker Valley High School gymnasium.
Due to fire and smoke blowing in the direction of the preschools, Ambridge, Alquippa, and Hopewell have been told to keep the children inside.
Motorists are being asked by emergency officials to avoid Route 65.
According to officials, one firefighter has been evacuated and is receiving fluids. Three workers at the industrial park sustained non-life threatening injuries, but were taken to Sewickley Valley Hospital.
