Police Blotter: Feb. 29 – March 5, 2012

2/29 – Student Conduct – Residence Life reported a smell of marijuana in Hancock Hall. The room was located where the smell was coming from. A resident student and two guests admitted to smoking outside of the building. The three suspects were advised they would be sent through Judicial Affairs for their actions. (Closed)

3/1 – Lost Property – An employee of the university reported losing their work keys at an off campus location. A report was written and forwarded to the university locksmith. (Closed)

3/1 – Fire Alarm – Guardian advised of a fire alarm activated at the Island Sports Center golf dome. The cause of the alarm was a soccer ball hitting a pull station. The alarm was reset by this department. (Closed) 

3/1 – Theft – A resident student reported some items taken from their room in Washington Hall. This case is under investigation at this time. The cameras will be reviewed in an attempt to locate any suspects involved. (Open)

3/2 – Medical Emergency – Valley Ambulance advised they were sending a truck to Lexington Hall for a female student having a seizure. Valley Ambulance transported the student to Sewickley Hospital for further treatment. Residence Life was advised of the student being transported. (Closed)

3/4 – Fire Alarm – Guardian advised of a fire alarm activated in Joe Walton Stadium. The location for the alarm was the elevator control room. The room was checked with negative results, and the alarm panel was reset.  (Closed)

3/5 – Departmental Information – An anonymous letter was forwarded to this department of a possible allegation at the Island Sports Center. An investigation is being conducted. (Open)

3/5 – Trouble Alarm – Guardian reported a trouble alarm activated in Hamilton Hall. Officers checked the building and the alarm panel and everything was normal. Maintenance was notified. (Closed)
