Robert Morris University student Ryan McCutcheon died on Sept. 30 in a car crash.

According to WPXI, McCutcheon’s car crashed on Toms Run Road in Kilbuck Township. McCutcheon was a sophomore accounting major, a member of the Delta Tau Delta fraternity and RMU LEAD.  McCutcheon’s father, Robert McCutcheon, is an RMU alumnus from the class of 1991.

“The RMU community is deeply saddened by the loss of this promising young man, and we grieve with his family,” said Jonathan Potts, director of public relations in the WPXI article.

There was no other vehicle involved in the crash, and police are still investigating. RMU President Christopher B. Howard sent a letter to all RMU students asking that students join in mourning McCutcheon.

“This is a devastating loss to Ryan’s friends and family,” said President Howard in the email. “I ask that you please keep them in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.”
