MOON TOWNSHIP – After a one year hiatus, the annual Robert Morris Homecoming dance returns – with a twist.

In years prior, the dance was held in local hotels, the Charles L. Sewall center (the arena that stood before the UPMC Events Center was built) or in the gym at the North Athletic Complex.

This year, the dance will be held under the night skies at the Alumni Commons Gazebo on Oct. 8.

The dance is free for all students. Tickets must be picked up at the Student Life office prior to the night of the dance to be able to enter.

The Homecoming dance will also feature the nominees for Homecoming Queen and King. One round of voting will take place next Wednesday and Thursday, Oct. 6 and 7, on Revolution.

The dance is just a small part of the weekend’s festivities. Earlier that Friday, Robert Morris Volleyball is hosting an alumni mixer at 412 Winery after their match against Youngstown State University at 6 p.m.

There is a progressive tailgate at the Gazebo from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Oct. 9 before the Homecoming game begins. Those who purchase a $25 dollar wristband will receive free food and drinks at all three locations throughout the day.

Although the festivities look different than in years past, current students and alumni alike are excited to once again continue the tradition of homecoming at Robert Morris University.
