The Inauguration of the 47th PA Governor begins

Governor-Elect Tom Wolf will be sworn in today as the 47th governor at the Swearing-In Ceremony beginning at noon.

The swearing-in of Lieutenant Governor Michael J. Stack III will take place at 10:30. This event is not open to the public, but it will be streamed live from the Senate Chamber in the Pennsylvania State Capitol.

The public has started to file in beginning at 10 a.m. and must be seated by 11:30 a.m.

Governor-Elect Tom Wolf, will be swearing in with 35 simple words that have been said by the governors before him.

“I do solemnly swear that I will support, obey and defend the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of this Commonwealth and that I will discharge the duties of my office with fidelity.”

After the ceremony, Wolf and his wife will be hosting an open-house in the Governor’s Reception Room in the upper level of the State Capitol building.

Later in the evening, the new governor will be celebrating the “Let’s Get Started” inaugural celebration at the Hershey Lodge from 8-11 p.m.
