Battle 4 Atlantis contests highlight 2014-15 RMU basketball schedule

Ever since the Robert Morris men’s basketball team won its first National Invitation Tournament game in 2013, the Colonials were able to secure big name non-conference matchups with some of college basketball’s most elite programs.

During the 2013-14 season, it was Kentucky, Oklahoma State and Alabama. This year, RMU can add the likes of North Carolina, Georgetown and Clemson to that list.

The Tar Heels, Hoyas and Tigers headline the schedule for Robert Morris’ 39th season of Division I basketball, while the Colonials’ league games begin on January 3 against Mount St. Mary’s.

After participating in the opening round of the Battle 4 Atlantis Tournament versus UNC, Georgetown and two teams yet to be announced, the Colonials will return to the friendly confines of “The Chuck” for four consecutive home contests featuring teams in which RMU played against on the road last season.

Robert Morris’ first game is slated for November 14 versus head coach Andy Toole’s former team, the Lafayette Leopards, where he served as an assistant during the 2006-07 season.
