In the Northeast Conference football opening weekend, Robert Morris (0-6, 0-1) fell to defending champion Sacred Heart (5-1,1-0) 52-13 on the road. It was the same old story for the Colonials, outgained by over 300 yards in total offense.

Robert Morris fell into a 28-0 hole before the first quarter was over, quickly losing control of any possible gameplan they came in with.

Sacred Heart quarterback RJ Noel had an easy time with the RMU secondary, and finished 19-of-24 for 295 yards and three touchdowns. His primary target, wideout Tyler Dube, had seven receptions for 108 yards and a touchdown. Dube also took a 40-yard double reverse to the house in the first quarter.

RMU quarterback Derik Abbott was 14-of-24 for 230 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions. He connected a few times with wide receiver Nic Lamica, including a 20-yard score with 5:55 left in the fourth quarter.

Lamica ended with four receptions for 93 yards.

Robert Morris heads home next weekend to face Central Connecticut State on Oct. 18.
