MOON TOWNSHIP– As announced in a press release earlier this week, John Kowalski will not be returning as the women’s soccer coach next season.

Director of Athletics, Chris King, announced that Kowalski, who has spent 19 years as the head coach of the Colonials, will not have his contract renewed once it expires later this year.

During his near two decades as the head coach of the program, he amassed a record of 112-224-19; an average of nearly six wins a season. The program has not had a winning season since 2011 when they went 11-8-1. Despite this, the team has always finished at around .500 in NEC play in recent years. In 2015, Kowalski led the program to its first-ever NEC Tournament appearance, where they defeated Bryant in the semifinals.

In the press release, it was announced that “RMU will begin a national search immediately to identify its next head women’s soccer coach.”

Stay tuned to RMU Sentry Media for updates on the coaching search.
