Robert Morris athletics has announced that the game time for RMU football’s game versus James Madison has been moved up to Thursday at 7:00 p.m. The game was originally scheduled for Saturday for Sept. 15 at 6:00 p.m.

The game time switch comes as the East Coast is bracing for Hurricane Florence, which is being projected to hit land early Friday morning in North and South Carolina. James Madison is located in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. Hurricane Florence is projected to reach Virginia early Saturday morning. Hurricane Florence is currently a Category 4 storm, with the potential to come close to a Category 5 before making landfall on Friday.

The game against James Madison is the first time in history for these two programs. Thursday night’s game will also be the fourth Thursday night game in Robert Morris’s history. As reported by RMU athletics, this will be the first Thursday night road game for Robert Morris since Aug. 29, 2013, when the team fell to No. 19 Eastern Kentucky by the score of 38-6.
