Duquesne 14 (1-0), RMU 7 (0-1): The Colonials opened their season against cross-city foe Duquesne at Rooney Field; however, after a back and forth start of the first half, the Dukes pulled away from the Colonials towards the end of the opening half and throughout the second. The Dukes went on a four goal run at the end of the first half to break a 4-4 tie and take an 8-4 lead. RMU scored back-to-back goals from Senior Jessica Karwacki to pull within two scores, but the Dukes went on another four goal run midway through the final half to give them a 12-6 edge. RMU would tack on another goal, but Duquesne scored two more to put the game out of reach. Seniors Jessica Karwacki and Emily Jamison both finished with two goals. Sarah Arnold made five saves in goal for Robert Morris, but received the loss.
