Thrive and Sigma Tau Gamma to host Walk for happiness

The mental health organization Thrive and Sigma Tau Gamma fraternity will be hosting the Happiness 24-Hour Walk-a-Thon in an attempt to end drunk driving. The event will take place from Friday, Oct. 22 at 5 p.m. until Saturday, Oct. 23 at 5 p.m. on the Nicholson front lawn.

According to Revolution, “Join us on the Nicholson front lawn in our attempt in walking to end drunk driving. There will be lawn games, music, Halloween-themed activities (including a costume contest) and so much more. There will be prizes to win, gift cards and it is SET credit eligible! We hope to see you there.”

Other upcoming events from the organization Thrive include a World Mental Health Day Carnival on Monday, Oct. 11 from 1 pm to 5 pm at the Alumni Commons Gazebo. The event will consist of carnival games, food and prizes.

The organization Thrive will also be working with the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority to host an online event called ProteKt Your Peace. This event will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 20 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
