September 5, 2018

After 13 hours in the air, 520 passengers, including 90’s rapper Vanilla Ice, were greeted by the Center for Disease Control Wednesday morning.

An Emirates flight from Dubai to New York City’s JFK Airport was immediately quarantined after nearly 100 passengers were reported sick during the flight, according to CBS New York. Police and medical experts began to inspect and interview people to determine if they were sick.

Passengers that appeared to be in good condition were released but could expect a follow-up, according to the Washington Post.

A publicist for Vanilla Ice confirmed that the rapper was on the plane. The rapper posted to Twitter showing the scene at JFK International Airport.

According to CBS New York, the CDC stated that about 100 of the passengers were being treated after complaining of illness including coughing and fever.

Three passengers and seven crew members were transported to nearby hospitals for further treatment.

People aboard the flight stated that passengers and crew members both started feeling ill during the flight. Witnesses say that there were passengers vomiting on the plane.

Passengers that were released from quarantine said that the situation was handled very well.
