RMU-TV is the award-winning, student-run television station at Robert Morris University. This past year was a productive and exceptional year for the station. Spanning live news updates, sports conversations, and new additions, the station provided consistent and engaging programming.
RMU Live, RMU Focus, Sports Talk in the Burgh, and Colonial Sports Center all aired live throughout the year on a weekly basis, with some exceptions. A new show, Cultured Colonials, also premiered its pilot episode.
RMU Live, a look at local and national news, produced 20 episodes this year. Jordan Warrack was the producer for both semesters, with Trenton Marks serving as associate producer in the first semester and Payton Hostetler joining in the second semester.
RMU Focus is a show that provides updates on campus events at RMU and around Pittsburgh. With 11 episodes this semester, including several holiday-themed ones, it aired mostly on Mondays. Isabella Harris produced the show throughout the year, with Rosemary Plane as associate producer in the first semester and Chrystian Kozak in the second semester.
Colonial Sports Center (CSC) is a returning show that airs at 9:30 PM and focuses on RMU sports, including player stats, games to watch, and top five plays. This year, the show was produced by Josh Woodman, with Nate Fanell as associate producer in the first semester and Brett Magulick in the second semester. CSC aired 20 episodes.
Sports Talk in the Burgh focuses on local and national sports. Casey Erlewein produced the show in the first semester alongside Assistant Producer Joey Jirmasek. In the second semester, Jirmasek stepped into the producer role with Caden Hyde as associate producer.
The show produced 17 episodes, along with special editions titled “Talk in the Burgh.” It was also nominated for a Golden Quill Award.
All of these shows were broadcast live from the RMU-TV studio on Robert Morris University’s campus and were overseen by faculty and the TV General Manager.
This year also included a leadership change: Jesse McCullough served as TV General Manager in the first semester before graduating, and Jordan Warrack stepped into the role afterward.
Overall, RMU-TV produced 69 shows this year, highlighting the station’s consistency and growth. The shows premiered live and are available on YouTube at RMU-TV. The station plans to return in the fall semester and continue.
