RMU named in list of best master’s in database management degree programs

MOON TOWNSHIP — Robert Morris is included in the top 30 best master’s in database management degree programs by BestSchools for 2018.

According to BestSchools, the rankings are based on academic excellence, faculty scholarship, reputation, financial aid, range of degree programs and strength of online instruction methodology.

Robert Morris provides students with 17 graduate programs that prepare students to use database management skills in the business world. Various concentrations include the internship track which allows students to include their work experience into the courses.

With a projected employment growth of 11 percent according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, database management careers have increased in popularity. Career options include database administrator, management analyst and computer and information systems manager.

Robert Morris students take core classes including computer network security and data integration for analytics.

The median salary for Database Management careers can go up to about $139,000 a year. In general, computer occupations are expected to grow 13 percent in the next seven years. This broad and flexible field allows students to explore careers in administration or computer and information technology.
