MOON TOWNSHIP — One person was arrested following an active police situation at Robert Morris University, according to authorities.

Officers from the Robert Morris University Police Department and the Moon Township Police Department responded to the college campus Friday morning at approximately 11:30 a.m.

Police surrounded a gray-silver Chevrolet truck in a parking lot near the Wheatley Center and Benjamin Rush Center.

According to court documents, 27-year-old Justin M. Currie was arrested by Robert Morris University Police on Friday.

Court records show that Currie is facing nine separate charges, the most serious charge being a felony count of aggravated assault by vehicle. Currie is also facing charges of fleeing or attempting to elude police, providing false identification to law enforcement, driving without a license, driving with a suspended license, two counts of disorderly conduct and two counts of careless driving.

Court dockets say that Currie was taken to Allegheny County Jail, where he still resides after failing to post $100,000 bail.

Currie’s next scheduled court appearance is set for Feb. 26
