The hype around Romo’s Cafe on the third floor of Nicholson was back as a dining option, which is a campus-wide fan favorite, after it reopened following a complete renovation. President Patrick, along with campus partners from Parkhurst, cut the ribbon this Monday morning.
Last year, Romo’s was damaged in a fire, along with flooding. Because of this, Romo’s was redone over the course of the second half of last semester and throughout the summer.
There were many changes made to the space. From a change in color palette to creating a new cafe-like bar peering out over campus, there are some major differences between the old and the new.
The new space, however, has gotten mixed reviews. While most of the underclassmen love the new space, many of the upperclassmen have said that the new layout is definitely going to take some getting used to.
While Romo’s did go under a very dramatic remodel, there were also a lot of new services added. Students can now mobile order groceries straight to their dorm, place Starbucks mobile orders before leaving for class, and even mobile order rice bowls before leaving the dorm.
Romo’s is here with new amenities, and President Patrick is so excited for all the students to go give it a try this semester.
