MOON TOWNSHIP — The Robert Morris women’s hockey team added three players to their class of 2020 on Wednesday when the program signed defender Nikki LaGue, forward Ellie Marcovsky and defender Chace Sperling.

Nikki LaGue’s name may sound familiar to Colonial fans as she is the cousin of former Colonial Maggie LaGue. Interesting enough, Ally LaGue currently plays with Nikki LaGue. She is a 2020 graduate as well. Nikki LaGue previously played with the Vermont Shamrocks before playing for the North American Hockey Academy since 2018. During the 2018-2019 season, she played in 17 games and finished with nine points broken up by eight assists and one goal. In addition, she was only penalized twice all of last season.

Marcovsky comes from Pittsburgh and committed to Robert Morris back in 2017. She played for the North American Hockey Academy white team last year, finishing with 19 total points which was a slightly below a one point per game average. Those 19 points were broken up by 12 goals and seven assists.

The last addition, Sperling, comes from Saskatchewan, Canada, and previously played for the Saskatchewan Stars and had 44 points in three seasons. The defender currently plays for the Pursuit of Excellence.
