Pennsylvania has Billions of Unclaimed Money Available

Around 1 in 10 Pennsylvania residents have unclaimed money sitting in the Treasury. Currently, the Treasury is safeguarding more than $4 billion of unclaimed property and some of that money could be yours! Last year alone, Pennsylvania returned $273.3 million to consumers with the average claim being around $1,600.

What is Unclaimed Property?

Unclaimed property is money left in dormant bank accounts, uncashed checks, forgotten stocks, and more. Since the Treasury of Pennsylvania never reaches out due to constant scams and scammers, this money is just left sitting here over time.

The Pennsylvania Treasury has set up a website for you to find any traces of unclaimed property that belongs to you. You can visit the official website and start creating your claim here or call 1-800-222-2046.

With the Pennsylvania state law giving residents only 3 years to collect their money, it’s crucial that you check for any funds to make sure you aren’t missing out on potential profits. With the process being completely online, the Treasury can usually get your money 7-10 business days after a claim has been fully processed.
