Be excited soccer fans! For the first time since 2018, Acrisure Stadium will be hosting a soccer game, with this year’s competitors being huge names in the world of European Football.

The English team Liverpool, who currently sits second and tied on points with first-place Arsenal in the Premier League, will be facing Spanish side Real Betis on July 26th, with kick-off scheduled at 7:30 PM.

The last time Acrisure hosted two prestigious European teams was in 2018 when then Heinz Field, was the site of Borussia Dortmund vs Benfica. Local soccer phenom Cristian Pulisic came back to his home state, which may have been the reason over 15,000 people attended the game.

This game will start Liverpool’s US tour, their first since 2019. This will also be the first time they’ve met Real Betis since the group stage of the Champions League in 2005. Liverpool, a very widely-known and highly popular team, currently are tied for the top of the table in the Premier League. The Real Betis sit 8th in La Liga and exited the Europa League earlier this year.

Liverpool’s commercial director, Ben Latty, said of the event, “Real Betis will come with a strong squad and it’s going to be a great occasion in another iconic setting, in another fantastic US city.”

Pre-sale tickets will go on sale Wednesday, April 10, with public tickets going on sale the following day on Thursday, April 11 on Ticketmaster.
