A landslide off of University Boulevard has the southbound lanes between State Route 51 and Stoops Ferry Road closed on Wednesday, April 3rd. This landslide comes after hours of severe storms and heavy rain. University Boulevard will remain closed until at least Thursday, April 4th, at 6 pm.

A flood watch was issued for Allegheny and surrounding counties until Wednesday, April 3rd at 4 am. There was also a tornado watch Tuesday evening, which expired shortly after 11 pm.

PennDOT will continue working to clean and secure the area until reopening. As of now, they estimate to have the southbound lanes reopened by Thursday, April 4th at 6 pm, but the time is subject to change due to changing conditions. The landslide was still active as of Wednesday evening.

This is a developing story. Information will be posted when updates are available.
