Robert Morris University is mourning the death of Joshua Merriman, a senior finance major.

Merriman was 21 years old and a member of RMU Men’s D3 Club Ice Hockey Team. He was from Wintersville, Ohio, and said to have died on Saturday, Sept. 16.

“This is a devastating loss to Joshua’s friends and family, and I ask that you please keep them in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. The entire RMU community shares in their grief,” said President Christopher B. Howard in an email from the Office of the President.

President Howard and his office ask that students join him in the mourning of Merriman.

“I will express to Joshua’s family the sympathy that all of us at Robert Morris feel at their loss, knowing that nothing can assuage their grief right now,” said President Howard in the email.
