Winter Weather Advisory issued, snow and ice expected

MOON TOWNSHIP – A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued ahead of a winter storm that is expected to bring snow and ice to the Pittsburgh region.

According to the National Weather Service in Pittsburgh, a Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for much of western Pennsylvania. The advisory begins at 1 a.m. Wednesday and will remain in effect until 12 p.m.

Officials say that Pittsburgh could see up to three inches of snow and an additional two-tenths of an inch of ice. Two to three inches of snow is expected across the region, according to the NWS.

A Winter Weather Advisory means that roads can be slippery or hazardous and travelers should allow extra time for their morning commute.
