Four Colonials Receive Horizon League Postseason Honors

On Tuesday, four Robert Morris softball team members were awarded honors in the Horizon League. The players who received awards were: senior Erika Bell, graduate Taylor Rhinehart, redshirt freshman Meadow Sacadura, and freshman Alaina Koutsogiani.

Bell, Rhinehart, and Sacadura were all three named to the 2022 All-Horizon League Second Team, while freshmen Koutsogiani and Sacadura were named to the All-Horizon League Freshman Team.

During the season so far, Sacadura has earned an average of .300, hitting four doubles and two home runs while also collecting nine RBIs and scoring six runs. The freshman catcher for the Colonials has also thrown out 11 runners this season for a caught stealing percentage of 34.4%.

While appearing in 46 games this season, Peters Township native Alaina Koutsogiani collected three home runs, 21 RBI, and 44 hits. Defensively, she had 38 putouts and 75 assists.

Senior catcher and outfielder Erika Bell have collected 37 hits and 20 walks for a batting average of .282.

Woodinville, Washington native Taylor Rhinehart, has racked up five home runs on 42 hits while accumulating a .307 batting average.

The Horizon League tournament play starts this week, where the Colonial’s secured the fourth seed in the tournament. Their next match-up is Wednesday at noon against Green Bay in the first round of the tournament on the campus of Youngstown State.
