As sports continue to be up in the air for the fall season, the Robert Morris football team’s latest announcement may display a step in the right direction.

The University of Hawaii tweeted on Monday that they have added RMU to their 2020 schedule.

Robert Morris confirmed the news by retweeting Hawaii football’s tweet announcing the news.

The Colonials will face the Rainbow Warriors in Hawaii on September 26 at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu.

Over the past two weeks, Hawaii’s first four games have been canceled, as the Pac-12 announced a conference-only schedule; eliminating Arizona, Oregon, and UCLA. Hawaii was also set to play the Patriot League’s Fordham Rams. However, the Patriot League suspended all fall sports due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

RMU will compete as an independent this season before joining the Big South as an affiliate in 2021.

This will mark the first-ever meeting between the two programs.

Last season, the Colonials finished 7-5, including 6-1 in the NEC, good for second place behind Central Connecticut State University.
