18-year-old killed after crash in Avalon

18-year-old+killed+after+crash+in+Avalon

At 5:30 p.m. on October 30th, a two-car collision in Avalon left one man dead and three others injured.

After a notification from County 911, Allegheny County Police quickly responded. The initial investigation revealed that the crash occurred when the vehicle, driven by an 18-year-old male, was traveling south on Ohio River Boulevard when it struck another vehicle driven by an adult female containing two minors heading northbound.

The male driver, identified as Hayden Ryan of Coraopolis, was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead a short time later. The county medical examiner determined Ryan’s death accidental, with blunt force injuries ruled as the cause of death. One juvenile from the other vehicle is in critical condition, the driver and other juvenile are injured but in stable condition.

Ryan was a 2023 graduate of Moon Area High School, a district spokesperson said.
