Police Blotter 4/22/15-4/27/15

4/22/15 – Parking Complaint – This department received a complaint for a vehicle parked behind Massey Hall.  An officer responded and located the vehicle in question, which had a fabricated permit on the vehicle.  The vehicle owner was issued a citation for fabricating the permit. (Closed)

4/22/15 – Trouble Alarm – Guardian reported a trouble alarm activated in Washington Hall.  Officers notified maintenance who advised they would check the alarm. (Closed)

4/22/15 – Smell of Marijuana – Residence Life reported an odor of marijuana in Washington Hall.  Officers responded and checked the area with negative results. (Closed)

4/23/15 – Fire Alarm – Guardian reported a fire alarm activated in Concord Hall.  Upon officers arrival it was determined that the cause was burnt food.  Maintenance was notified and reset the alarm. (Closed)

4/23/15 – Trouble Alarm – Guardian reported a trouble alarm activated in Washington Hall.  Maintenance was notified to check the system and reset the alarm. (Closed)

4/23/15 – Traffic Stop – An officer conducted a traffic stop in the Gazebo Parking lot for a stop sign violation.  The driver was issued a verbal warning for the violation. (Closed)

4/23/15 – Student Conduct – This department was advised of a harassment complaint between two students.  Both students were advised to stop any further contact and one student will be sent through Judicial Affairs for their actions. (Closed)

4/23/15 – Departmental Information – This department received a report of possible drug activity in Yorktown Hall.  No specific location was given, and officers will keep an eye out in an attempt to locate the area in question. (Open)

4/23/15 – Departmental Information – This department is investigating an incident that occurred in Gallatin Hall.  The incident is ongoing pending further information and suspects involved. (Open)

4/24/15 – Student Conduct – This department was advised of a noise complaint in Adams Hall.  Upon officers, they could hear multiple people and loud music coming from the room.  Alcohol was present inside the room and all parties involved were advised they would be sent through Judicial Affairs for their actions. 4/24/15 – Departmental Information – This department is investigating an incident that occurred in Gallatin Hall.  The incident is ongoing pending further information and suspects involved. (Closed)

4/24/15 – Suspicious Vehicle – An officer observed a vehicle parked in the middle of the roadway at the intersection of Massey Way and Campus Drive.  The vehicle owner was attempting to remove a piece of plastic that was lodged underneath the vehicle.  The plastic was removed and the officer cleared. 4/24/15 – Departmental Information – This department was notified of a vehicle broken down by Marshall Hall, and that it will be removed as soon as possible. (Closed)

4/25/15 – Smell of Marijuana – Officers were called to the third floor of Yorktown Hall for an odor of marijuana.  Officers checked the area in question with negative results. (Closed)

4/25/15 – Public Drunkenness – An officer encountered an intoxicated male at Yorktown Hall.  The male was issued a citation for public drunkenness and transported to the Coraopolis Police Department for safe lodging. (Closed)

4/25/15 – Accident – This department was advised of a vehicle damaged while parked in the Colonial Way parking lot.  All pertinent information was obtained and a report was issued for insurance purposes. (Closed)

4/25/15 – Traffic Stop – An officer conducted a traffic stop on Pennsylvania Avenue or a stop sign violation.  The driver was given a warning for the stop sign violation, and issued a citation for the vehicle not being inspected. (Closed)

4/25/15 – Student Conduct – A male was found urinating outside of Washington Hall.  The male was taken back to the police station until he could be picked up and taken off campus.  The male is being sent through Judicial Affairs for his actions. (Closed)

4/25/15 – Disorderly Conduct – A male was cited with disorderly conduct for urinating outside of Washington Hall. (Closed)

4/25/15 – Public Drunkenness – A female non student was found highly intoxicated in the Nicholson Center women’s room.  Valley Ambulance transported the female to Sewickley Hospital for treatment.  The female was issued citations for underage drinking and public drunkenness. (Closed)

4/25/15 – Disorderly Conduct – Officers were contacted in reference to a male passed out inside of Washington Hall.  Officers made contact with the male who a non-student.  The male was transported to Sewickley Hospital by Valley Ambulance, and received citations for public drunkenness and disorderly conduct.

4/25/15 – Student Conduct – Officers viewed a female pour a liquid, spit on and kick the vehicle parked next to her in the CFL parking lots.  Officers did not view any damage done to the vehicle and the female is being sent through Judicial Affairs for her actions. (Closed)

4/25/15 – Medical Emergency – This department was advised of a female vomiting in Yorktown Hall.  The female was suffering from a migraine and was transported to Sewickley Hospital by Valley Ambulance for treatment. (Closed)

4/25/15 – Property Damage – This department was advised of a vehicle damaged while parked in the CFL parking lots.  All pertinent information was obtained and a report was issued for insurance purposes. (Closed)

4/25/15 – Suspicious Person – Officers viewed a male hanging out of the driver’s side of a parked vehicle in the CFL lots.  The male was found to be a non-student and under the influence of alcohol.  A sober friend was with the male and drove them home.  Officers cleared without incident. (Closed)

4/25/15 – Traffic Stop – An officer conducted a traffic stop for failure to stop at a stop sign.  The driver was issued a citation for the violation. (Closed)

4/25/15 – Property Damage – An officer found a broken light sconce outside of room 321 at Yorktown Hall.  Maintenance was notified. (Closed)

4/25/15 – Traffic Stop – An officer conducted a traffic stop for a stop sign violation, the driver was given a verbal warning. (Closed)

4/25/15 – Departmental Information – This department checked on a report of a vehicle hitting a mailbox in the neighborhood behind campus.  Officers checked the area and were unable to locate the vehicle in question. (Closed)

4/25/15 – Disturbance – Officers turned off a speaker that was being played at a high level of volume outside of Lexington Hall.   Officers returned to Lexington and seized the speaker after the students turned it back on. (Closed)

4/25/15 – Public Drunkenness – While patrolling campus officers found an unconscious male outside of Concord Hall.  The male was taken to Sewickley Valley Hospital by Valley Ambulance, and was cited for public drunkenness. (Closed)

4/25/15 – Traffic Stop – An officer conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle driving at a high rate of speed on Colonial Way.  The driver was issued a citation for careless driving. (Closed)

4/25/15 – Public Drunkenness – Officers found a group of males on camera throwing garbage around Salem Hall.  Two citations were issued for public drunkenness and disorderly conduct. (Closed)

4/25/15 – Traffic Stop – An officer conducted a traffic stop on Massey Way after viewing a male hanging out of the passenger side of a vehicle.  The male was found to be a non-student and under the influence of alcohol.  The male was cited for underage drinking and taken off campus by a friend. 4/26/15 – Departmental Information – Officers were called for a report of a possible domestic situation in Yorktown Hall.  Officers spoke with all parties involved and this matter is still being looked into at this time. (Open)

4/26/15 – Medical Emergency – Officers were called to Ross Hall for a male student who had been drinking all day and was shaking uncontrollably.  Valley Ambulance assessed the male and advised medical attention was not needed.  The male was satisfied with the assessment and all parties cleared. 4/26/15 – Traffic Stop – An officer conducted a traffic stop on Campus Drive for a vehicle with an expired inspection.  The driver was issued a citation for the violation. (Closed)

4/26/15 – Suspicious Person – Officers were notified of three unidentified males sleeping in a student’s room in Washington Hall.  Officers responded and identified the males as non-students, issued trespass warnings and escorted them to the police station to be picked up from campus. (Closed)

4/26/15 – Criminal Mischief – A student reported damage done to their vehicle while parked in the CFL parking lot.  Pictures were taken of the damage and a report was issued for insurance purposes. (Closed)

4/26/15 – Suspicious Incident – This department is investigating an incident that occurred between two employees at the Island Sports Center. (Open)

4/26/15 – Accident – An officer was approached at the Island Sports center in reference to vehicle damage in the parking lot.  All pertinent information was obtained and a report was issued for insurance purposes. (Closed)

4/26/15 – Lost Property – A student reported losing their wallet, and wanted a report on file in case it is turned into this department.  All pertinent information was obtained and the owner was advised they would be contacted if the wallet is found. (Closed)

4/26/15 – Criminal Mischief – A student reported their vehicle damaged while parked in the Colonial Way parking lot.  All pertinent information was obtained and a report was issued for insurance purposes. (Closed)

4/26/15 – Lost Property – A student reported losing their MacBook charger somewhere in Wheatley Center.  A report was issued in the event that the charger is turned into this department. (Closed)

4/27/15 – Trespass Warning – This department issued a trespass warning to a contracted employee at the Island Sports Center. (Closed)
