President Donald Trump visited H&K Equipment in Coraopolis today to speak with around 250 guests about his tax reform. The rally was a private invitation-only event. Trump was also in Pittsburgh to show his support for State Rep. Rick Saccone.

Trump and Air Force One landed at the 171st Air Refueling Wing at Pittsburgh International Airport and was greeted by Saccone. The president spoke at H&K Equipment about his tax plan and the success the Western Pennsylvania area has had with the tax cuts.

Throughout his speech, President Trump outlined benefits for Western Pennsylvania and for the nation. The president stated that Pennsylvania residents would receive a savings of $11 billion during this income tax season. Trump also reported that H&K Equipment plans to invest $2.7 million back into their operations in Coraopolis.

Also addressed during his speech was the amount of citizens that are unemployed. President Trump announced that over 2.2 million jobs have been created since the election. People applying for benefits are now at the lowest they have been in 45 years. President Trump also said that unemployment rates among African American and Hispanic citizens is at the lowest ever recorded. Women’s unemployment is now at a 17-year low.

President Trump’s daughter, Ivanka Trump, also spoke at the event. Ivanka Trump discussed the tax cuts for families and how they will directly benefit western Pennsylvania residents.

Rick Saccone is the Republican candidate for Congress in this year’s special election on March 13. The election is in light of former Congressman Tim Murphy stepping down. Saccone will be running against Democratic nominee Connor Lamb.

Saccone did not speak at the event but was in attendance. President Trump spoke to guests before taking a tour of the equipment-manufacturing plant. Before coming to Pittsburgh, President Trump was at the Pentagon attending regularly scheduled meetings.
