School of Business names Dr. Lois Bryan interim dean

Robert Morris University has named Dr. Lois Bryan, professor of accounting, interim dean of the School of Business effective June 1, 2015.

She will succeed John Beehler, who became the dean of the School of Business in 2013. Beehler is leaving Robert Morris to become the 12th president of Jacksonville State University in Alabama.

Bryan has served in other administrative positions during her tenure at RMU, most recently as the Senior Associate Dean for Academic Excellence for the School of Business.

She also served as the associate dean, department head of accounting and taxation and director of the master’s of science in taxation degree program.

Her areas of expertise and research interests include assurance of learning, taxation, and managerial accounting.

According to an e-mail from David Jamison, Provost and Senior Vice President, Bryan has played pivotal roles in the administrative teams when the SBUS earned its initial AACSB-International accreditation in 2009 and the successful reaccreditation in 2014.

Bryan earned a bachelor of science in business administration in accounting from Waynesburg College followed by a master of accountancy from the University of Denver.  She later earned a master of science in taxation from Robert Morris University before proceeding to earn the doctor of science in information systems and communications.
