Robert Morris University middle blocker Emma Granger capped off her incredible record-breaking rookie season by garnering Rookie of the Year honors and earning a place on the All-NEC First team as one of the best players in the conference.

Granger finished the season ranked ninth in kills with 2.90 per set, second in hitting percentage at 33.9 percent and first in service aces with 60, which also tied a school record.

Granger’s performance this season helped propel a team with eight total freshman into the NEC playoffs as the fourth and final seed.

The team will take on the Blackbirds of LIU Brooklyn Friday at 3:30 p.m. in the NEC Semifinals.
