JACKSONVILLE, Fla.– Robert Morris men’s hockey alum Alex Tonge will be a part of the 2022 ECHL All-Star Game, it was announced on Wednesday evening.

Tonge, a Kingston, Ontario native, is in his second season with the Norfolk Admirals, the ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Carolina Hurricanes and AHL’s Chicago Wolves. He was named to the All-Star team after recording 12 goals and 14 assists in 25 games so far this season.

Tonge averaged almost a point per game at RMU, recording 138 points from 2015-19, which ties him with the fourth-most points in Colonials history.

In his senior year, he led RMU in scoring with 39 points (19g-20a). His 56 goals rank sixth all-time in men’s hockey program history.

The All-Star Game is set to take place on Monday, January 17 in Jacksonville, Florida.
