The men’s soccer team took on the Wright State Raiders in Dayton, Ohio for their regular season finale. In what was a crucial game to secure a playoff seed and where they may have landed in the tournament, the Colonials took down the Raiders 3-0 this past Monday. As a result, senior Kosi Udeh was named the final Horizon League Offensive Player of the Week in the 2025 season.
On Monday, Udeh had a career day versus the Raiders tailing a goal and an assist in the win to end the regular season for the Colonials. Udeh started the goal scoring for RMU off of a long throw-in by defender Jaxon Lee which was flicked by captain Fabian Overkamp. In the 79th minute, Udeh added to his contributions with an assist to Anass Hadran who put in the third and final goal of the game.
In addition to his two goal contributions, Udeh also took a career high six shots in the game, with three of them being on the net versus the Raiders.
The win on Monday for the Colonials was the first conference road win for the Colonials all season, which happened to be the last game of the season. Plus, the win also marked their first win since October 4 in a 2-0 win over IU Indy. In the month between wins, the Colonials drew three matches and dropped one against Green Bay.
This season, the forward from Birmingham, Alabama has tailed two goals and three assists while being a crucial part of the Colonial offense this season. For his career, Udeh has put seven in the back of the net and has recorded five assists between RMU and the University of South Carolina.
Udeh is the third Colonial this campaign to receive conference recognition joining Josh Lane and Fabian Overkamp as the other two Colonials to be recognized by the Horizon League this season. Both Lane and Overkamp were awarded Horizon League Defender of the Week earlier in the season.
The Colonials look ahead to Wednesday as face top-seeded Cleveland State Vikings in the Horizon League semifinals in search to return to the Horizon League championship game. Kickoff in Cleveland is scheduled for 4 p.m.
