A late regulation goal lifted the Colonials past conference foe Holy Cross Friday night.

RMU 5 (14-6-3, AHC 11-3-3), Holy Cross 4 (12-8-1, AHC 10-4-1): Robert Morris made their way to Worcester, Massachusetts for a weekend series against the Crusaders of Holy Cross Friday. Game one was back and forth action all the way until the final seconds of the contest. RMU’s goal scoring started with a Brandon Denham goal to tie the game at one in the first period. Junior Daniel Leavens gave RMU a 2-1 in the second period and senior Greg Gibson pushed the Colonials lead to 3-1 with a goal later in the second period. Holy Cross tied the game at three late in the second period but Denham scored his second goal of the game to give Robert Morris the 4-3 lead in the third period. Holy Cross scored a tying goal but senior David Friedmann found the back of the net with only 41 seconds remaining in regulation to secure RMU the road victory. Robert Morris’s senior goaltender Terry Shafer picked up the win for his squad, giving up four goals on 32 shots.
