MOON TOWNSHIP– For the last four years, it was impossible to attend an RMU women’s basketball game without noticing the force that was Nneka Ezeigbo.

From her dominance in the paint to her tenacity on the boards, Ezeigbo quickly became one of the most influential figures in program history.

As of today, Ezeigbo now has the opportunity to make an impact professionally in Spain.

Unicaja Malaga, a member of Liga Femenina 2, announced that they signed Ezeigbo earlier this morning.

Despite the upcoming season only being the fourth in organization history, Malaga has made significant strides by gaining promotion to LF2 following a stellar 2018-2019 campaign.

Ezeigbo has the opportunity to help lead the team into the future and help build off of their 15-6 record last season.

With this signing, the women’s basketball program now has 22 players that have played professionally.

It is easy to see why Ezeigbo is joining that list.

She sits at sixth in team history in points and games played, fourth in rebounds and field goals made and she even posted career highs in points, rebounds and assists in her senior season.

While her collegiate career came to an unfortunate end due to the Coronavirus, Ezeigbo’s contributions to the program will be remembered for a very long time.

Now, she will have a well-deserved chance to construct a new legacy in Spain.
