Robert Morris Colonials vs. Colgate Raiders preview

The Robert Morris women’s ice hockey team will travel to Hamilton, NY where they will be playing a Tuesday night game at 7 pm, and take on the Colgate Raiders.

The two teams will be meeting to play a one game series against each other, and they have only met one time in the past, which was a Colgate win.

The Colonials are coming off a bye weekend, but they are currently on the longest winning streak of program history, as they are currently unbeaten over their last six contests—all which have been on the road.

This streak is also tied for the longest active streak nationally with Wisconsin and Northeastern. Robert Morris is now 8-1-1 on the season, which is the best 10 game start in the program history.

“It’s nice to not have any games this weekend, but we are working really hard in practices to be ready for our game against Colgate,” assistant captain Brianna Delaney explains.

The Colgate Raiders (4-7-1) were picked to finish ninth in the 2011-2012 ECAC Hockey Preseason Poll above Yale, Brown, Union.

Thus far Colgate has wins over Queen’s University, Lindenwood, Syracuse, and Yale, and losses to Toronto Jr. Aeros, New Hampshire, Northeastern, Cornell, Niagara, Harvard, and Dartmouth.

Junior forward Brittany Phillips is leading the team with fifteen points. She is followed by freshman Melissa Kueber who has ten points.
